Jekaterina Rogaten, one of the IDEAS post-doctoral researchers attended the ‘Pathways into through and out of higher education’ conference in Hannover Germany on the 11th and 12th of September 2017. Given the highly quantitative nature of the conference, Jekaterina, a learning analytics specialist, was the ideal candidate to attend and present IDEAS findings to date. Both an oral and poster presentation was given at the conference. The presentation titled ‘leaning trajectories of science students of distance education” and the poster titled “International distance education and African Students” were both well received by the audience. Keen interest was displayed in the research findings of the IDEAS project by many of the conference attendees. All in all the conference was a success and the trip was well enjoyed.
